On December 5th, the be.Source Chair was inaugurated at KU Leuven - HIVA, in the presence of the KU Leuven Rector.

This chair, "Empowerment of Underprivileged Elderly," led by Professor Tine Van Regenmortel of the HIVA institute, aims to promote research on elderly people in our society, with a particular focus on those facing financial difficulties.
"We wish to obtain more factual data on the psychosocial aspects of elderly people (e.g., loneliness). Based on the vision of empowerment, we aspire to a more positive image of the elderly and greater social solidarity in our society. The partnership between science, practice, policy, and the target group is essential here. This objective is achieved through the concept of an 'academic empowerment workshop.'"
