For its 10th edition the Concert des Cœurs was sold-out! Close to 700 people attended the event including Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid to see a reinterpretation of popular Christmas songs by the Children’s Choir from la Monnaie accompanied by two soloists from la Chapelle Musicale and a eight musicians ensemble.

The 'Empowerment of Underprivileged Elderly' chair, under the leadership of Professor Tine Van Regenmortel of the HIVA institute, aims to promote research on the elderly population within our society, and more particularly on those elderly with financial difficulties. “We are seeking to gather more evidence-based data pertaining to psychosocial considerations of the elderly (e.g. solitude). With a vision rooted in empowerment, we are aiming towards a more positive image of our seniors and a greater social solidarity within our community. In order to achieve this, cooperation between science, practice, politics and the target group is essential. This will be made feasible via the "empowering academic workshop concept", "Empowerende Academische Werkplaats".
For this 9th edition, the Concert des Cœurs brings you a Christmas concert by Les Pastoureaux, «Waterloo Boys’ Choir», under the baton of Philippe Favette.
The net proceeds from the concerts are systematically donated to the be.Source projects in aid of vulnerable older citizens.
