Bras dessus Bras dessous: the beautiful adventure of neighbourly solidarity
Our organisation connects people aged 60 and over who live at home and experience loneliness and/or social isolation with younger neighbours who are willing to spend time with them according to their availability and the relationships that naturally develop.
By relying on a local network of volunteers that fosters intergenerational and intercultural encounters, Bras dessus Bras dessous promotes healthy and fulfilling ageing at home. This mission complements the work of professional caregivers and the support provided by family carers.
Our goal is to place older adults back at the centre of their social lives by enabling them to build meaningful relationships with neighbours from their own community.
Mission and Values
Bras dessus Bras dessous aims to address the loneliness experienced by people aged 60 and over and to help them remain happily at home for longer by:
- Creating and coordinating intergenerational and multicultural neighbourhood support networks.
- Placing older adults back at the heart of their community and everyday environment.
- Listening to their needs and guiding them towards the most appropriate services and support structures.
